Yn dilyn gwahodd cynigion penodwyd Luned Rhys Parri o Gaernarfon yr artist preswyl ‘TOSTA CYMRU’ i fynd o Gymru i Galisia ym mis Mawrth a mis Ebrill eleni. Bydd hi’n byw ac yn gweithio yn A Coruna, ac yn cynnal gweithdai cymunedol yn ogystal â gwneud ei gwaith ei hun. Ar ôl y preswyliad, bydd y gwaith yn mynd ar daith dros Ewrop, ynghyd a gwaith gelf chwe artist arall o wledydd bychain sy’n cymryd rhan mewn preswyliadau ar yr un pryd. Cyn y Dolig, roedd Luned yn gweithio yn Y Wladfa, ac wedi arddangos ei gwaith, Patagonia ym Mhlas Glyn y Weddw. Rydym yn ddiolchgar iawn am gymorth Cyngor Celfyddydau Cymru i brosiect TOSTA.
After a lengthy and very close process of selection, Luned Rhys Parri from Caernarfon has been chosen as the ‘TOSTA CYMRU’ artist in residence from Wales to Galicia, during March and April this year. She will be living and working in A Coruna, and undertaking community workshops as well as developing her own work. Once the residency is completed, Luned’s work – along with that of six other artists from smaller-language cultures who have also been on residence in other countries, will be going on tour throughout Europe. Just before Christmas last year, Luned was working in Welsh-speaking Patagonia, and her work from there was recently exhibited in Oriel Plas Glyn y Weddw. We’re deeply grateful for the Arts Council of Wales for their support for the TOSTA project, without which Luned’s tour – and much else – could not have happened.
